WORLD-CLASS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ALGORITHMS
YITU Ranked First in the Face Recognition Vendor Test
Organised by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Face Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT) is one of the world’s most stringent industry benchmarks, with real-world scenarios provided by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The FRVT also provides official guidance for U.S. government purchases.
YITU ranked first across four categories, with an accuracy rating of 95.5%. The result was 2.0% higher than the second best placing, and the best ever result since 2014.
YITU’s win also broke down barriers by being the first Chinese tech firm to win the FRVT.
Winner of the Face Recognition Prize Challenge
Hosted by the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) under the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Face Recognition Prize Challenge (FRPC) recognises developers with the most accurate unconstrained face recognition algorithm.
YITU outperformed over a dozen international competitors to take first place in the face identification accuracy segment of the FRPC, where YITU’s facial recognition software was found most accurate for the 1:N matching accuracy segment.
The win is a recognition of YITU’s AI algorithms, which have the ability to recognise faces from images complicated by environmental conditions such as non-frontal head poses, poor and uneven illumination, motion blur and non-neutral facial expressions.
